Saturday Project

Yesterday I got to do something that I have not done in YEARS.  I spent the day working on a project.  It got me thinking about how great it is to make things and develop new talents. (For a great talk on creation, read this!) I purchased both of these items a few years back, when I had unlimited storage space and these 1970’s items fit just right in the “shagga-delic” bachelor pad named “The Loft” that I shared with 2 other gals. It had a hot tub and wet bar filled with 40 Italian cream soda flavors. I miss it there (sigh).  I bought this chair and globe with stand for about $5 each. The chair spoke to me because of the hidden compartment (Awesome!). I did not realize that the tray inside was for sewing materials such as bobbins and thread until I got it home (even awesomer!).

This weekend was exceptionally beautiful here in Seattle.  The sun was shining and everybody and their mother (literally) were out and about enjoying the first real sun we have seen in 8 months.  Lowes was jam packed.  Good thing it only took two trips. I am THRILLED with the chair and I can’t wait to start sewing while sitting in it.  The globe is going to go my new office at work.  It needs some sprucing up, and we don’t have room in our house, evidenced by the fact that we knock it over every few days.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that I had ALL day to do this because Jon ended up working from 7am to 10pm.  He pulled through like a champ, I missed him tons though.
