Christmas came and went...

Christmas eve day we played some family B-ball in the morning. The boys left without us girls to get some aggression out I guess. Lets be honest. We know they were having a lot more fun after we showed up! Thanks to Jon’s coaching I actually made a basket or two. Huzzah!

We set up for the Davidson Family Christmas part which was also held at the church. It was a big event full of fun and laughter. We were entertained by a mock wedding luncheon where we got to know Katrina better and cut a cake, a roast of my Uncle Doran by his sisters mostly, and Grandpa lead us all in a new rendition of the 12 days of Christmas Fast Food style. Jon hammed it up with his part as 5 onion rings. It ended with a live nativity (SarahLynn did great on the piano) and a gift exchange. Santa even made a cameo!

Upon arriving home we dove into the Zavoral sibling gift exchange. This was a fun-fest  full of Inlaw jackets, bearded men, snow globes, ravioli and marijuana tests (you never know,  we DO live in a VW bus).

Christmas day we all got to see what Santa brought us. Per tradition we lined the hallway tallest to smallest. Jon and I got an expansion pack to Dominion and Settlers! Wahoo!
We got dressed and headed over to Aunt Judy’s for her famous brunch. The eggs benedict and potatoes were awesome and we had fun hanging out with our cousins from that side of the family. Highlight was Tanner hamming it up for the crowd by holding his blanket under his chin with no hands. He would go around the room doing it for applause. Good times and laughs were had by all!
That evening we bummed around Grandma Davidsons house, played a couple rounds of Dominion, and cheered both Brook and Carley on as they each rolled over at 2 months!! Those girls are STRONG!

Picture people

We were SO happy when the twins came!!! I could just hold them all day long. OK, I did hold them all day long. Here’s a pick of them in some Christmas dresses:
The whole Zavoral clan came into town this year. That meant lots of basketball, lots of crazy and lots of fun!
The first day we were all in town we went to get a family picture taken. Zach and Katrina were only supposed to be here for a couple of days, so we had to act fast. Our experience at the Picture People was AWFUL. We waited for 2+ hours and then they deleted a ton of photos we wanted to see. I took a couple of candid shots of the waiting....
We started out fairly chipper
After an hour or so in a hot stuffy store, things got bad fast!

In the end we did come away with quite a few cute pictures. Check them out!!

A little pre-Christmas R&R

So I took a little rest from blogging. I actually took a little rest from life too. We reached Sacramento about a week after Thanksgiving, and we crashed. It did not help that we started the Insanity workout soon after arriving. Over two months of being on the road sure leaves a person feeling fat a bloated! We literally could not MOVE for the first 6 days of the workout program. Turns out  what we thought would help us get back into the kick of things ended up  only adding to our want to just sit back and take it easy. So sit back and take it easy we did.
One night my dad scored us some sweet Kings tickets. I hear the Kings will likely move to Seattle next year. I’ll believe it when I see it, but I guess if the Kings HAVE to move, that will be an ideal location for me because I claim both cities as home.
One day I started out by just making pumpkin seeds, and then I got a wild hair to make pumpkin bread from the pumpkins. It really was not too much work (if you don’t have a job or kids and you have endless time on your hands) … and the end result was enjoyed by everyone for a few days. Look what just one pumpkin can make! I made an oath to never buy pumpkin in a can again. We’ll see if I stick to it or not.

One day Jon got his hair cut. It was a very sad a solemn day for him.  My mom was so excited she paid for it. Hot dang my man is handsome!!

One day we visited Grandma Ginny, and another day we took her to the dentist.

Two or three days we got to hang out with Alisa (one of my beautiful cousins) and Dave and go to movies and play games with them. It was super fun to get to know them better!  Because I was on a blog hiatus, I did not take very many pictures, but here is one of them.

One day Grandma/pa Davidson invited Me/Jon, Alisa/Dave, and Aubrey (another beautiful cousin)/Dave over for dinner. It was a delightful evening, and I am SO happy and grateful for my family!!
One day we all stared in the ward Christmas party. The theme was a pioneer Christmas. It turned out really cute, our silverware was in mason jars, and our food was served in pie tins. Jon sang a solo as a lone cowboy, and Dad was the bass (and in our opinion best singer) in a fancy old school quartet. Mom read a Christmas story to the kids, and me, well guess I was not a star, I just cheered everyone else on!
One night we helped decorate the Christmas tree. Mom and Dad picked out the most perfect looking real tree ever. Everyone who came over thought it was fake!

One day we picked up all of our stuff from the dock, and moved it to my uncle Kevin’s warehouse. We would not have been able to do it without you Kevin!!

Lots of days we took the dog on a walk. We really enjoyed being outside when it was not raining! Unfortunately we brought the rain with us to Sacramento, the first week we were there they had a huge storm that included flooding of lots of homes.

One day Jon installed barn doors in the living room. This way it can be used as a bedroom for visitors if everybody is around for Christmas, like we were this year.

A few days Jon taught Matt guitar lessons.  Matt was a good pupil and practiced every night over the break. Hopefully he keeps it up now that he is back in school!

A couple of days we went to Matt’s B-ball games. He plays varsity ball for my alma mater Del Campo.
All in all it was a great little vacation from real life, and now that I wrote it all down, we did do quite a bit!
