So I took a little rest from blogging. I actually took a
little rest from life too. We reached Sacramento about a week after
Thanksgiving, and we crashed. It did not help that we started the Insanity
workout soon after arriving. Over two months of being on the road sure leaves a
person feeling fat a bloated! We literally could not MOVE for the first 6 days
of the workout program. Turns out
what
we thought would help us get back into the kick of things ended up
only adding to our want to just sit back and
take it easy. So sit back and take it easy we did.
One night my dad scored us some sweet Kings tickets. I hear
the Kings will likely move to Seattle next year. I’ll believe it when I see it,
but I guess if the Kings HAVE to move, that will be an ideal location for me
because I claim both cities as home.
One day I started out by just making pumpkin seeds, and then
I got a wild hair to make pumpkin bread from the pumpkins. It really was not
too much work (if you don’t have a job or kids and you have endless time on
your hands) … and the end result was enjoyed by everyone for a few days. Look
what just one pumpkin can make! I made an oath to never buy pumpkin in a can
again. We’ll see if I stick to it or not.
One day Jon got his hair cut. It was a very sad a solemn day
for him. My mom was so excited she paid
for it. Hot dang my man is handsome!!
One day we visited Grandma Ginny, and another day we took her to the
dentist.
Two or three days we got to hang out with Alisa (one of my beautiful
cousins) and Dave and go to movies and play games with them. It was super fun
to get to know them better! Because I was
on a blog hiatus, I did not take very many pictures, but here is one of them.
One day Grandma/pa Davidson invited Me/Jon, Alisa/Dave, and
Aubrey (another beautiful cousin)/Dave over for dinner. It was a delightful
evening, and I am SO happy and grateful for my family!!
One day we all stared in the ward Christmas party. The theme
was a pioneer Christmas. It turned out really cute, our silverware was in mason
jars, and our food was served in pie tins. Jon sang a solo as a lone cowboy, and
Dad was the bass (and in our opinion best singer) in a fancy old school quartet.
Mom read a Christmas story to the kids, and me, well guess I was not a star, I
just cheered everyone else on!
One night we helped decorate the Christmas tree. Mom and Dad
picked out the most perfect looking real tree ever. Everyone who came over
thought it was fake!
One day we picked up all of our stuff from the dock, and
moved it to my uncle Kevin’s warehouse. We would not have been able to do it without
you Kevin!!
Lots of days we took the dog on a walk. We really enjoyed
being outside when it was not raining! Unfortunately we brought the rain with
us to Sacramento, the first week we were there they had a huge storm that
included flooding of lots of homes.
One day Jon installed barn doors in the living room. This
way it can be used as a bedroom for visitors if everybody is around for
Christmas, like we were this year.
A few days Jon taught Matt guitar lessons. Matt was a good pupil and practiced every
night over the break. Hopefully he keeps it up now that he is back in school!
A couple of days we went to Matt’s B-ball games. He plays
varsity ball for my alma mater Del Campo.
All in all it was a great little vacation from real life,
and now that I wrote it all down, we did do quite a bit!
